Do I need an adult to stay with me?

I'm planning to rent a hotel in June for my friends birthday ( she'll be 17) and its a month before I turn 18.

I have a legal person over 18 that will rent it for us but do they have to stay with us in the room at all times?

If they checked us in then left would we be allowed

To stay without them?

Most nice hotels require an adult 21 or older to make the reservations, and stay in the room. If your hotel minimum age is 18, do not expect to have an in-room refrigerator with liquor in it. The person who is 18 can leave the room, but is expected to sleep there. If there is a complaint about noise from another hotel guest, expect to be thrown out if the semi-adult is not there.
