Is the whole Bill Cosby rape accusation drama/media circus racially driven?

I don’t know about anyone else but I’m getting sick and tired of hearing the Bill Cosby rape accusations in the news throughout this week and what I find that is really disgusting about all the Cosby drama, that I feel that it’s almost racially driven! I mean think back to last month when Stephen Collins was accused of raping children and that stayed in the media eye for about a week and then was forgotten, while Bill's rep is drowned, being dragged through the mud and is likely to probably be something that sticks on his legacy after he passes on.

And take a look at this

Stephen Collins - a white actor on the WB/CW drama 7th Heaven. Accused of raping children - media talked about it for a week or even a few days.

Bill Cosby - an African American actor on The Cosby Show. Accused by women of raping them YEARS ago - and media blasts it everywhere, networks & companies pull out on anything related to working with him or pull anything any content he was ever on.

But I'm just wondering is this whole Bill Cosby drama/media circus racially driven or is it not.

To answer your question in one word, no. Bill Cosby was always a crossover performer, who was just as popular with white audiences as black audiences. He was the first African American male to star in a network T.V. show (I-Spy). His comedy concerts and albums (and his cartoons Fat Albert and Little Bill) were successful with audiences of all backgrounds and the Cosby show was one of the most watched programs of all time. Stephen Collins had nowhere near the success or name recognition as Cosby, who also once won Father of the Year. In fact, I wouldn't have know who Collins was if you hadn't mentioned his show.

Nearly all Americans of all generations know Bill Cosby well, so I don't think the media will drop the story. Especially as new accusations seem to come out each day and Cosby continues not to address them.

    I think it's money-driven, not racially driven.

But then I have to wonder why the women waited so long?

And as Darren points out, Cosby's successes stretch back decades so he's no stranger to the public spotlight. Which makes me think it would be even harder to hide something like this, let alone continued incidents. I don't think it adds up.

Media fodder , yes. It's all BS. If you look into any famous mans past you will find at least a dozen false rape accusations. If charges could have been filed, they would have been filed. All of these accusations ar at least 30 years old....So...?
