What are the restrictions in taking a company to court?
I searched and couldn't find a straight answer. Back in may, I was in a store and they somehow how a liquid that was on the floor which caused me to fall. I was a little sore nothing too bad contacted district office, they were more helpful then the store but I never wanted to sue as I wasn't in pain. Plus at the time I had no insurance no job nothing I couldn't go get it looked at. Now it's october, I'm working a physically demanding job and my knee kills me. I just want my medical stuff paid for (I don't want to own an island or the country) but are there time constraints? What about doctor visits at the time? Just curious....thank you!!

At this point, you have no possible way to prove that the knee pain is from the fall 6 months ago. You would never win a case.
Unless you have proof there was an injury to the knee at the time, you have nothing. Proof means actual doctor's records, which you don't have, as you never saw someone. You were not in pain until you started this job...not likely the fall that caused it.

There are no restrictions other than finding a lawyer willing to take your case. You can only sue for the damages you suffered and would have to be able to prove that the store was negligent. Can you prove that your knee problem was a result of the fall, especially if you had no pain at the time?
