Can I freeze bananas to make them last longer.?

I want to buy bulls of bananas and know they will turn brown and spoil on the counter. Is it possible to unpeel the bananas and freeze them and just unthaw when ready to eat? Bananas will not be for a smoothie. Just as a snack.

frozen bananas turn to mush when thawed but are great for banana bread.

When I buy bananas, I buy some ripe and ready to eat adn the rest I buy sort of green and then some VERY green. It takes a while for them to ripen but buying like that assures me I have fresh bananas for a week or more.

Bananas don't hold up well to freezing. If you freeze them, they are fine for making ice cream, smoothies, or cooking with, but they will be mushy to eat them as they are.

They turn to mush when unfrozen. You can use them in baking and smoothies but they're sort of hard to eat. Not dangerous or anything.

Freezing would damage the banana. If you could vacuum pack them or dry them for banana chips it would be far better.
