Why does *Do Not Track Me* make a lot of sites not work correctly? What the Fook is going on here? Serious answers only!!!?

Update:

Serious answers only! Dad installed Do Not Track me extension for Opera and since then I have notice a lot of websites not working correctly or only half the stuff showing.

Is it because our internet is now under so much spying that websites hate having it blocked with the thought police taking over?

When you choose the "Do not track me" option is shuts down cookies, and many sites need those cookies to operate properly and contain such things are your log on, and preferences on the site.

Many sites will send a warning that cookies are needed to work properly, and allow you to change settings for the ones you trust.

Has nothing to do with thought police, think of it more as going into your bank asking for cash out of your account, but refusing to give your name and account number.
