Math Help?

I already know the answer because I used a calculator, how do I solve this problem without one?

    1/8 doing this in a calculator is easy, on paper is complicated. When you get to higher up grades, you wont have time to do it on paper, stick with a calculator.

    what i would do is multiply 8 by 100 and do that for the numerator as well so u get

    100/800

    then i devide that by 8

    so then u get 12.5/100

    1/2 is 50%

    1/4 is 25%

    1/8 is half of 25 or 12-1/2 %.

    since you are supposed to be past 5th grade you should know how to divide 1.00 by 8
