How do I turn off auto save in yahoo email. It's saving every minute and stalling the program.?

Looks like I'm not alone here. Just got a new Dell laptop with Windows 10. Ironically Yahoo Mail was the first thing I opened and tried to use when I got the computer. For the first day, I thought my new computer was a lemon because of so many freeze ups. Little did I know it was Yahoo Mail!!
I've had my Yahoo email address for almost 8 years and will definitely be getting rid of it shortly if this problem isn't addressed. Ridiculous that you can't change your auto save settings. I literally can only type one word at a time. I've been typing my emails in Microsoft Word and then copy/pasting them. I shouldn't have to do that!

I have another problem with auto saving messages. It is really annoying, because auto save turns on every minute, but even that was bearable. From few days ago every auto save which mail does, after composing and sending message I wanted, shows like sent message. To be precise, if I need 8 minutes to write a mail, for that time it will do 8 auto saves, and at the end of the message, beside my one message I sent, it will shows up all these auto save like sent messages. I wanted to turn off auto saving, but like many other here, I couldn't. I don't know is it somekind of virus or what. I really don't want to switch to another mail and I would appreciate some help.

Same for me. It takes me forever to write an email, SUCH A BACKWARD STEP. I cannot spend all day and night writing my emails as it freezes up every few seconds and then hasn't stored the letters you typed in before it saved/froze. I am trying to run a business, I cannot easily change my business email address though I am SO tempted. It may be far less hassle going to another mail provider at the end of the day. Why cannot it be fixed, can autosave be turned off? I haven't seen any responses from Yahoo yet, do people actually exist in their Customer Service so a person can actually be spoken to rather than the customers are supposed to solve their own problems via forums??

It's not just Windows 10. I'm using Yahoo! Mail in Chrome, under Mac OSX 10.6.8, and the autosave thing is driving me bonkers. It gets me so irritated that it's making me lose my train of though while typing. At this point, it would be easier to type my e-mail in TextEdit, and then copy and paste into Yahoo! Mail.
Still, the main issue here is that it is now 2016 and this hasn't been resolved. Indeed, I wasn't having this problem in 2014, when this thread was started. It's an effect from the series of changes Yahoo! has made of late, in their bid to stay "relevant", which is funny, as it's making me strongly consider finally moving away from a service I've been using since 1997..!

I just recently downloaded Windows 10 and that is when the Yahoo auto save caused the same problem as those individuals above. I hadn't noticed it before. Right now I am typing at a fast speed and I am not getting the blue circle, bell and freezing. Can't figure it out. Help!

Same problem with Autosave going on for 6 months now. In win 8.1 and Win 10 computers. Home AND Office. 3 computers with solid state drives. 2 without. Even when cache and cookies are all cleaned out and computer restarted, problem NEVER goes away. Really a waste of time. Many of my military friends who all live in other countries have requested me to use their gmail address because THEIR yahoo email is not working properly and they have reported SAME PROBLEMS! Why Yahoo refuses to allow the customer to control AutoSave, or turn it off? Are they really trying to destroy the loyal customers they had? 18 Years using Yahoo for my business and personal emails and it's sad to say, but I can't tolerate this any longer. I need to change to a new provider if this is how Yahoo addresses such a huge issue to the functionality of their best product. Over 45 minutes to SEND an email because AutoSave tried every few seconds, even when I click send, it is trying to save and says Your draft failed to save. STOP SAVING AND SEND THE EMAIL!

Well I give up! I've not had any response from Yahoo addressing this issue and it appears this is a problem for many others also. Good bye Yahoo. Your lack of response or interest in fixing this has passed my tolerance level. I guess you're stalling just like my program does. I'm closing my Yahoo account and will change to another email carrier.

Same problem. Yahoo email freezes with auto save constantly. It's about time to get rid of Yahoo if they can't fix the problem. What a joke.

Why can't I turn off auto save to drafts when typing an email in yahoo email?! It has to be retyped, because everything 30 to 60 seconds it spends countless seconds saving the email to the drafts folder (while not typing what I'd like to type). It's utterly ridiculous.
