If I tell my therapist about suicidal thoughts, do they have to tell my parents?
There's usually a rule in therapy where "if you talk about doing harm to yourself or others" they have to tell your parents && possibly a psychiatrist or something. Just wondering on how that works..? Is it only if they think you are about to kill yourself that they tell someone?..

Therapists cant tell if you are only harming yourself but not to a deadly point. If you tell them you are suicidal or are hurting yourself to a point of being deadly they tell.
