If I were you and to be much safer, I'd invest in an external hard drive for the safe storage of your photos. A USB hard drive is used the same way as a flash drive does, just plug it in and transfer the photos from their current location to the external hard drive. In fact, important photos should always be backed up into at least two different locations other than your computer's hard drive. You can use external hard drives, flash drives or CD/DVDs disks. You can get a 2TB external at places like Walmart for about $60. Two of these would hold about any photos you'll ever take and are not large at all. You could also combine the external hard drive with flash drives, but that would cost more for a lot less storage. A 64GB flash drive can cost about $50 at Walmart. This way you can have up to three storage locations for those photos. You can delete them form the computer hard drive after your sure they have been successfully transferred to the one or two other storage places. With the storage on a cloud service, you can never be sure what may happen to your files. That could be a third backup location, but for me, I like to have something important like family photos under my care, not someone else. Just be sure you always use that "Safely Remove Hardware" icon before disconnecting any external drives from your USB port.

Cloud storage is a model of data storage where the digital data is stored in logical pools, the physical storage spans multiple servers (and often locations), and the physical environment is typically owned and managed by a hosting company.

Most people will store photos on some sort of cloud drive such as OneDrive or Google Drive. OneDrive gives you about 20gb of space with a basic account, Google Drive gives about 30gb. Another service, Mega.co.nz offers 50gb for the base account.
Of course, each of these has possible upgrades, but those cost money.
