    Theodore Roosevelt, while running as the Progressive Party's candidate in 1912, got more popular and electoral votes than the Republican Taft did.

  • Yes - most recently in 1960 and 1968. Also, look up "faithless electors." Usually one or two electors vote for some other candidate who may not even have been on the ballot. History is very interesting!

    Yes, please do a simple research on wiki to see how some of the elections in the 1800's ended up.

    Many times...Wallace in 68...Strom Thurmond in 48 I think and several others.
