Why do we spend our life planning for the temporary, when most probably in 200 years from now it will not matter so much?

So what would you spend your life doing? It doesn't matter if our personal planning doesn't matter 200 years from now. We plan so that our lives (the 70 - 90 or so years we are on this earth) are the best we can make them...or at least, that's why many of us plan and do things, even knowing they will be temporary (that doesn't mean those things aren't worth doing).

If I didn't plan to make payments for my (temporary) vehicle, then it would disappear permanently. The (temporary) food that I eat sustainst my (temporary) life force. Without it, I would die (permanently).
