Dog ate Christmas tree branch, now is trying to vomit. What to do??
My dog (50 lbs) ate a small branch (needles and all) of our real Christmas tree last Saturday. This morning he was trying to vomit, but couldn't. He is still trying to vomit. I have found on Google that fir trees are not digestable by dogs, but I cannot find out what to do. Any suggestions, besides taking him to the vet (we are very busy, but if need-be, we will of course take him)? THANK YOU
Thanks for all the considerate answers, and please don't be rude. I love my dog and we take care of him. I was just trying to find out if there was something else that could help him. And by "being busy" that means going to work.

Vet asap or if you're too busy then re-home the dog with someone who will provide proper care and don't get anymore pets.

He's probably scratched his throat/digestive system, for starters. I honestly can't imagine how, or why he'd do this but if he's not right still, I can only say VET.

Jeez, take him to the vet. If he has an intestinal blockage he could die. Sometimes forcing oil works, like wesson, a cup or so, but the dog needs the vet.

I recommend calling your local vet or animal hospital immediately.
