I have a kindle fire hd and I have gotten pop ups saying my computer needs virus protection because it has a virus??? can tablets get virus?

    if you clicked those popups then you NOW have a virus. NEVER NEVER EVER click browser popups that say you have a problem and click this link to fix it. Just close the browser when that happens or power your tablet fully off.

    And yes you should have virus protection because there is web malware like what made those popups that can trick you into installing malware yourself. both AVG and Avast are good - pick one - the apps are in the Amazon app store.

    Look your iPad Mini could only get a virus if you were on iOS 8 (as it has abolished sandboxing of some apps) and you have jailbroken and installed an application containing a virus. If you have just visited a webpage that says you have a virus then it is trying to get you to buy their anti virus software!

    Yup, as Forest said, if it can run internet on it, it can get a virus. I'd get rid of it as quickly as you can, as they can be just as destructive as any virus on a computer. Good luck.

    ANY device can. But the popups could be a virus.

    yes anything that runs the internet can get viruses.
