why am I getting much more attention after losing weight? theae are femles I never met,. why do girls stare during the break of conversation?

basically I used to be chubby and I've lost weight. I notice people treat me different. Keep in mind these people didn't know I was chunky before. I'll go to class. I'm in college and girls will stare @ me and one even turned until I sit down. I pretend not to notice and she's done this since the first day. She has this blank expression. She has done this at least 2 or 3 times. I even had a girl offered me a ride. I barely talked to her. She started talking to me about my class I guess she overhead me. She said she's on the way there for class and she parked her car by the building. I was approached by this girl after class and she said she was studying the same thing. Basically in a break during our conversation, she would stare. I make a comment on about the program for our major and she goes "I don't know" and stares/smiles. It's kind of weird. People that have known me have said I look different. My face is skinnier. One even made a joke about how I can get a gf now.

This girl approached me after class and inquired about what program I'm going to bec. She's majoring in the same. So we're talking and I make a comment about the program and she goes "Idk" and smiles stares just standing there...

it's like she wanted to divert from our conversation about the program to wanting something more personal,,,weird to stare during a break in a conversation
