i have red white and yellow connections on my tv, and i use all 3. can i use a tv that has blue and green instead of yellow?

    The red and white inputs are sound an the yellow is video, this is composite video. The blue and green inputs are component video. Composite video carries all of the analog video signal on one cable while component splits the signal into three cables. You can't hook a composite out to a component in. You won't get the right signals. You need a converter in order to make it work.

    the red-white-yellow cables are for transmitting audio (red-white) and video (yellow). the red-green-blue cables are for transmitting video, but in higher definition than the yellow cable.
