what kind of earring for cartilage?

so i got my cartilage pierced 2 years ago and i just never bothered changing the earring but now i want to.

is there a certain type/ size of earring i have to get?

right now i have one thats a flat back and twists on the stud.

i prefer this type of earring because the regular butterfly backs always rubs and itches behind my ear

what are those earrings called? whenever i try to explain it to stores they dont understand

when i got my cartilage done the guy said i could get barbells for it too but the stores always only have larger ones for industrials

what stores flat back earrings or little barbells ?

Flatback barbell. Or flatback labret. Really, either works. Shouldn't wear crappy jewelry with butterfly backs anyways.

Any reputable professional piercer can fit proper jewelry to your ear and help you out. Stores are going to be filled with low quality garbage you don't wanna put into your piercing. A reputable piercer will have access to high quality jewelry that is appropriate for long term wear.
