HP laptop doesn't recognize my phone!?

I just got a new HP probook laptop. When I tried to sync picture from my android phone (aquos sharp crystal) it was just charging and nothing popped out on the laptop screen. Is there something I need to do?? Please help. Thanks

    Disconnect phone from PC. Try to find and download the USB driver for your phone for your version of Windows. With the phone NOT attached to the computer, install the driver. Then attach the phone and turn it on.

    That happened with my new phone - my PC failed to download the driver and then just ignored the phone. So I did what I said above.

    Why not call HP and ask them ?? They're the ones with all the answers

    It could be either 1 of them:

    1) Your cable is charging cable, not data cable.

    2) Corrupted driver.
