Can anyone tell me the torque specs for the rear calipers on my 2004 Silverado 1500 Reg Cab?
Bracket to backing plate and caliper to bracket. My Chilton book says 148 and 80 lb/ft. That just seems crazy high for such small bolts.

Chiltons is crap. As is Haynes. Check with the factory service manual, or someone on a forum who has the proper GM service manual for your year.
It does seem high, IIRC 80lb/ft is max torque for a 1/2" or 7/16" grade 8 fastener, and I'm going to guess you aren't anywhere near that size.
In-lbs would be an odd measurement there as well, but you are sure that's not what it says?

Just tighten them. Nobody torques anything except engine stuff and wheels when the customer is looking.
