Good comebacks for being called a city kid and not knowing anything?

Okay i m really annoyed at this group of friends but they re from school and southern IL, and i m from downtown chicago and they always make fun of me for not knowing diffferent things from like the country like IDGAF about what a stupid combine is. but they always go on about how they know stuff about the country and the city. and it pisses me off, they re just stupid hicks that hunt and live in the south. i thought about saying how living in the city teaches you how to dress because it sure doesn t look like they have any idea how to dress (i.e. camofaluge jackets and baggy jeans and big boots) but idk i didnt know how to respond i just laughed but they were meaning it legit and it just hurt.

Okay, first thing to do is lose the attitude towards county folks, and I say that being a city kid myself. To call them "stupid hicks" is just as bad as them knocking you for being a "city boy".

You might want to shelf the attitude and take the time to learn about thing from their POV, lead by example. If you show a willingness to learn, most of them will take pity on you and provide you with the basics that you need to function outside of a metro area. And if you do real good, you may even wrangle a drive in that combine or learn more about how food gets to your table.

I grew up in KC and spent most of my life after HS in small towns throughout the Midwest. There are some great, good, down to earth folks who will have your back through thick and thin, as long as you show some respect for who they are.

I also have family in So. IL so I know what you're going through, it's a completely different lifestyle, but there's wisdom there too. Who knows, you might find that it becomes a sharing kind of thing, they teach you about life and you can teach them the pitfalls of "City Life".

And FYI, Camo and boots IS dressing for the country, fancy shoes and dress don't last long in the muck and mud. Get to know the people, not the clothing, you'll be surprised at what you find.
