Is there much difference in operating cost between a 15.5 cu ft fridge and a 16.3 or 16.5.?
My current one is15.5 and it's a good size for us, but it's hard to find one that size.
I'm thinking getting a16.5 but fridges work better full than empty.

Check the label on the fridge. A larger fridge can use less than a smaller one, if the larger one is made to be more energy-efficient. An energy-efficient fridge will cost more, so you have to decide if the extra cost is worth it over the probable life of the fridge, considering what you pay for power.
If your 15.5 fridge is usually fairly full, you aren't going to notice much difference in fridge space when using a 16.5

New ones use less power than older ones. Make sure it fits the space you have.
