Can someone figure out this calculation?

This semester is almost over and I want to know what I have to get on tomorrows final exam to make a B or C in the class. I dont know how to add them up. It will be very much appreciated if someone could help me calculate. Please and thank you very much! I take human anatomy 1 plus the lab… A class lecture and a lab.

Class lecture= 400 pts.

Lab= 300 pts.

Here are my grades on the tests for the lecture class….

74%

86%

76%

Here are my grades for lab.

There are 10 quizzes we took which are worth 100 pts. all together

I got 100 on all of them except two. I got a 4 out of 10 for one and 6 out of 10 for the other. I failed those two.

Final exam for lab I got a 69%

So what would I have to get on the final exam tomorrow to get a B in the class?

Here is what my syllabus says:

The final grade will be determined by:

1. Lecture average (400pts)

2. Lab average (300pts.) There will be two Lab Practical exams. There are NO

Lab Practical Make-up Exams. There will also be lab quizzes that will

account for a total of 100 pts.

For the overall course, your score out of a total 700 possible points will be converted to a percentage and you will receive that letter grade corresponding to the following scale:

A = 90 - 100%

B = 80 - 89%

C = 70 - 79%

D = 60 - 69%.

F = under 59%

F-nonattendance: students who enroll in the class but fail to attend labs/lectures and exams will receive a grade of F-nonattendance.

Update:

The second test I forgot to put which was the midterm in lab. I got an 84.5!

  • The syllabus says that you will have 2 exams for the lab portion, however you only noted one grade. For the sake of calculating, I will just assume you scored about average for your other tests (let's say 70 to be conservative).

    Adding up your totals (using the 70% lab exam), we get 229/300 and 236/400. Without the final exam you are getting 465/700=66.4%. To figure out minimum grade:

    (465+x)/700=.7

    465+x=490

    x=25

    So basically you need a 25% to get a bare bones C. If you pulled out a 100% on the final you would end up with an 80.7% (low) B.

    Again, without that 2nd lab exam score these calculations may be off, but this is the best educated guess I could form for you with the information I have. Good luck!
