any sport where you have to rely solely on your own is the toughest, snooker is very demanding mentally, and you have to have a lot of confidence in your own ability, tennis has 2 parts it is very physical and is also very demanding mentally.so i think that these two are the hardest.Golf is a little easier because you are not always playing an opponent, and it is not very physical,i mean you are not going to work up a sweat running around.

Singles matchplay is definitely the hardest mentally and/but occasionally physically. I'm not even talking about pro-level tournaments; even recreationally, matchplay is or can be very demanding, frustrating. Part of this is it being an individual sport. Another part is the nature of the game: about every second or so (at the higher levels of play) you have to make a decision. Thousands of such choices are constantly made throughout a match. This is extremely taxing. You can't simply stall or merely defend and prevent your opponent from scoring; even as a defensive player, you are still proactive. Thirdly, the scoring system induces a lot of stress, uncertainty, regrets etc. If you don't win the point, your opponent does. If you don't win the game, your opponent does. In other sports, like soccer, basketball, etc. you are not penalized for not scoring a goal or a basket, i.e. missing; in tennis, you are!

When mentioning physicality, many people make the mistake of simply thinking about strength or endurance, both of which do occasionally come into play to a good degree in tennis. What isn't mentioned as often is that technique is also a part of this physicality. Technically, tennis is the hardest sport. A great variety of technical shot-making is executed (and movements other than hitting, such as footwork, are technical as well), and a minimum well-rounded common skillset is mandatory. you can't just get by through effort. The game is very fast. If, technically, something particular is way off on a particular day, you entire game can possibly come crashing down (although mental backlashes play a part in this). This never happens to the same degree in other sports, where you can still compensate and get by.

Mentally, tennis is one of the hardest sports.Physically, its not even in a top 5 hardest sports.

For example, tennis can be played in 5 sets, and match could last for 5-6 hours. Then, tennis is in top 5 hardest sports.

One of the hardest sports is rowing.Through all race, you need to give 100%.At the end of a race, you feel like dying.

Box is also one of the hardest sports. If match is long, you would also feel like you are going to die,and you will also be beat up.

I think it would be the spiritual dryness. Physical abuse is only skin deep and even the broken bones heal over time. Mental battle will leave deep unseen scars that may never heal and could take away a part of your being with it. Emotional blackmail would just piss me off. But if your spirit is strong and your faith (in whatever or whoever it is) is there and you hold on to your passion and fervor then all will heal eventually. Without some kind of spiritual feeling you are a corpse that just hasnt laid down yet.

Hard to say, but tennis is definitely a very complete sport. You use almost every muscle in your body, and without the right mindset you're going nowhere. So it is definitely one of the hardest sports.

I think Golf more mentally tough than tennis. Tiger Woods described it as really intense since you have to be alone for 18 holes that is like 5 or 6 hours.

Tennis is very physical also since you are alone and running around.

I played singles tennis for many years. And I can vouch, yes it is very mentally tough.

You're kidding me, right? X'''DDDDD It's neither mentally nor physically the hardest. Compared to the sports I do, tennis is the easiest one. (and tennis is one of the sports I do and I do enter tournaments) It's so-so.

It's a good sport, but it's probably not the hardest.
