Birth control- parents said no (17)?
I asked my dad and he basically freaked. He said for my mom to take me or wait until I'm 18 kuz he's not taking me.
My mom isn't a very independent woman tho... My dad handles everything for the most part. And she only speaks Spanish, so she is very uncomfortable. I turn eighteen in October but Idk.... I just really thought they'd be more understanding..
My two cousins have gotten pregnant. One with a miscarriage within the first 2 months and another had an abortion. My city is one who has one of the highest pregnancy percentage. My friends. I understand where he's coming from. And I think that's blocking out from him understanding where I'm coming from.
Let the record known, my mom will 99% not take me to the doctors. And I can't wait 10 months to be honest. I've been thinking about asking them since I was 16 and I finally got the courage now.
The fact I have a boyfriend might have been an important factor to the panicking.. We've been together for a year and a half if you are wondering..
How do I go about asking my mom. ?...

How about you just don't have intercouse until you CAN get birth control. The problem here is NOT about a pill, it's about waiting. You haven't been active for at least the first 10 years of your life (i am guessing here), and probably longer -- that means that the lack of sexual activity has NOT killed you. Why CAN'T you wait? Isn't your life and the lives of those around you more important than a 10 second thrill?
But if you REALLY can't wait, beg, borrow, steal, and force -- I'm sure one of those methods will get you want you want.
It's also a good test for your significant other -- if THEY can't wait either, then you KNOW for certain you've got a loser. Anyone with that little self control will end up doing far worst than dumping you in the long run.

I think you need to be as honest and open about the situationas possible, help them to understand that if you are mature and sensible enough to ask them to start using birth control then you are certainley old enough to be using it. Turn the situation round ask them if they would want you to end up like your cousins? I doubt it, I can kind of understand why your dad would freak out, he doesn't want to think of his innocent daughter having sex but you've got to explain it's going to happen one way or another so would they rather it be protected or unprotected? If they are still oth very stubborn and refuse to take you the doctors then you can take yourself to a sexual health clinic without your Mum or Dad to get the pill

The answer is simple. Stop having sex until you can. If that means waiting 10 months, so be it. Better a ten-month wait for sex than a nine-month pregnancy and 18 years of parenthood while you're ill-equipped to do so.

Is it possible to just use condoms until you can get birth control? Of course, it's always best to be safest, and birth control would be ideal, but if condoms are used correctly, they have a very high efficiency rate.
They're also much easier to get, since you don't have to get a prescription, you can just buy them at a local drug store.
