is it okay to paint your car tires different colours?

based on some feedback ive gotten about other local law things id assume it would be since it doesn’t seem that the government can technically restrict much I do although in theory there are some things you need permits for or watever but what seems strange about this is that if it was okay to do why wouldnt more people do it? we wanted to apint the tires of my wifes car red-white-red-white in honour of something that has meaning to us but before we invest the money in the paint and brushes i wanted to check here if it would be fine or if you guys have information about why not if thats the case? its not drastically urgent that we know the answer today but id really apprecaite if you could because we want to get the materials why prices are still lower if we can do this thing thanks.
