Why can't satellite and cable TV do a home hook the same as wireless internet through a modem. Stop running cables all over the house.?

    Satellite is digital, and so is a lot of cable TV. The issue is bandwidth. Both satellite and cable TV use hundreds and hundreds of megaHertz of bandwidth (satellites use gigaHertz of bandwidth). Wireless is limited in bandwidth, it cannot handle that much data. The widest channel for wireless is about 40Mhz wide, no where near the 400Mhz or more that even cable TV uses for all their their channels...
