When a teacher is taking attendence on the first day of class is it weird to say this?

When she says your name you say that's me or present.

    Usually only elderly or oblivious substitutes do that anymore...usually they just look at the chart. But in rare instance when it happens, my friend always says "yo" and I say "present". If it's a synonym, I suppose it doesn't really matter. Anything works, really, because it signifies that you're there, which was the initial question.

    I just say here or present.

    I don't need the teacher to remember me as the student who had verbal diarrhea.

    'That's me", is a bit weird. I usually say "present" or "here". But most often I'm the only one to say 'present', everybody says " here"
