How does an individual monotize social media to earn a few extra dollars?

Is it possible for a non business individual to turn "Likes", or Tweets or views, etc into Dollars and Cents?

If yes, how easy and how?

Most typically with affiliate links to online stores, where you can earn roughly 15% of a sale, the commissions vary considerably.

Many sites won't allow you to place obvious affiliate links on their pages.

A typical affiliate link might look like:

    somestore.com?ref=joeBlow

In some cases yo can rewarm people on the social page and send them to some blog page you own where you can then use the affiliate link.

Someone on facebook with lots of fields can make a little selling likes to some business page.

I understand that those grass-clippings are worth a lot. I've heard about people paying $10 just for a gram of them.
