How can i overcome celery's awful texture?

Celery tastes fine, but it's that terrible stringiness and softness to it that I can't take, and I dont have money for a blender, so thats not an option.

Celery is not soft, it's quite crunchy. I'm wondering why yours seems soft.

If you have the patience, you can pull the strings off but if you slice/dice it small, you won't notice them in a recipe.

I love celery so I probably won't be very helpful but cutting it into small pieces or pulling the stringy parts off might work. The only reason I can think of why the celery you eat is that it's old celery. You could try peanut butter with celery it's amazing and apparently pb with celery and raisins which is called "Ants on a log" I was told it tastes nice because of the pb celery and raisins each bringing a different flavor and texture into the snack. Peanut butter also makes it easier to eat celery (less stringy)

Cut it into really small pieces and add it to stews, stirfries, curries or soups. If it's amongst other foods, you might not notice the texture as much. Use it primarily in dishes that have some sort of liquid or sauce as the base, like casseroles, stews or pasta in sauce. Or you could dice it up small and use it in an omelette recipe.

don't use it. you don't have to overcome anything. probably billions of people never eat celery.

if you are interested in eating it because it is an extremely low calorie food then that's not a good enough reason to make yourself want to eat it.

  • As ckngbbbls has said, celery can be peeled, You can then use your peeled celery to make Waldorf salad which is basically chopped apple, celery, walnuts and mayonnaise. You would probably like this. Try it!

Eat it fresh & crisp but cut it into smaller pieces to minimize the stringiness. Stuffing it with peanut butter or cream cheese makes it better too

You don't have to eat celery. Other green vegetables are also healthy.

I hate celery too, which is why I choose not to eat it. You can boil it in soups, and it won't be as nasty.

don't eat it! it's gross anyway. lol. when I have to use celery in a recipe I make sure to cut it up into VERY fine slices and sauté it very well. you wont be able to feel the stringy-ness at all. celery should never be soft when raw though, it should have a nice crunch.
