It plays out like a gangster simulator, in that you rise up to the rank of a kingpin by racing, doing contracts for certain characters from the story (like aiding Trevor in running his company by stealing weapons from The Lost to sell to the Mexicans), doing races, and killing other players in death matches. All of these actions give you RP (Respect Points)
