Not born alive before December 31 2014 you will have to wait until the 2016 tax filing season to be used on the 2015 1040 FIT when born alive during the 2015 tax year for that purpose and time.

Hope that you find the above enclosed information useful. 12/22/2014

Nobody can claim a baby who hasn't been born yet by the end of the year. Whether you can claim her in 2016, when 2015 taxes are filed, depends on whether you meet all the rules - it's far too soon to say.

no one can claim a child that is not born within the year

by the time you have to file the 2015 tax return your niece may not qualify as your dependent

ASSUMING you meet all of the requirements, she would be your dependent on your 2015 taxes that you file in the spring {like FEBRUARY} of 2016.
