Is it possible to have both ssd and hdd in your laptop (MacBook pro)?

So I recently bought a ssd I am planning on replacing my disk drive with the ssd so can I run both?

    Generally there is only enough space for one main storage device. So you would probably have to choose between using an SSD or a HDD.

    Edit: If the hard drive were replaced with a blank SSD then it will be necessary to install the OS on the SSD. The data will still be on the hard drive. Pick up an enclosure and you can use the hard drive as an external disk.
