to buy or not to buy the xbox one?

I have never owned a TV gaming console, just a PC and the Nintendo hand-held systems. I would like to get a TV one but I am not a fan of the Wii U. My brother has received the Wii, GameCube, and PS3 and I have enjoyed the Wii and GameCube receiving games for both. The situation is I no longer live with my parents and would like to call ownership of one of these systems. We have never owned an Xbox and I have played my friends at college. I have read the reviews on both the PS4 and Xbox one and they typically favor PS4 for one player games with limited multi-player use over the internet. Xbox is better suited for multi-player function over the internet but the graphics are not as high resolution as the PS4 one. Also the xbox one has better applications even though the interface can be more confusing than the PS4. So the ultimate question is what is an easier transition from the nintendo family to PS4 or Xbox one?
