Overfilled the engine...halp?
I m basically an idiot and overfilled the engine. Over a quart. Dipstick is mismarked. Don t want to talk about it. There was smoke. Only drove a few hundred yards.
How much damage am I looking at?

No damage done considering the amount of overfill and distance traveled. Why overfilling is bad is the crank hits the oil in the sump and aerates it (makes small air bubbles). This can cause oil pressure issues and wear on the bearings, however this takes time to happen and doesn't apply to you. Crack open the drain plug and let it piss out a quart, then go on about your life.

No damage for a short drive like that. You just need to resolve the problem right away and the car will be fine.

Shouldnt really hurt anything if you dont hear any noises. Just drain out either all & start over or drain out enough to bring it back in to specs. You will have to drive the piss out of it then to burn off the hole that mode its way to on top of the pistons but should be ok.

None, it should be fine if you only went a 300 yards .... Just empty it out of the oil pan immediatly.. Too much oil is the same as too less
