What's the difference between Shut Eye, Resting Your Eyes, for short times, and a short nap? Is it the amount of time, something else, both or none?

When people say they are "going to get some shut eye" they mean they are going to get some sleep. Duration could be short or long.

People often claim they were just "resting their eyes" when really they accidentally dozed off for a short while.

A nap is a short period of sleep. "I'm going to take an afternoon nap" would refer to a short sleep. It might be planned, or perhaps accidental if you dozed off unintentionally for a while.
