I have searched, but have not found exactly what i was looking for. I want something so that all family members can add and share media without asking one person to do it all. In addition, I want something that does not limit space or time.

You can also connect it to cloud storage services such as DropBox and Google Drive so you don't have to host the files from your computer. You can access Plex from any computer, phone, tablet and even some games consoles.
To let other members upload to it, simply get them to upload the files to the shared cloud storage you have connected to it, it will then automatically sync and everyone who is signed into that Plex account can see them in a beautiful media server,
