Atheist vs Satanist?

You're confusing atheists with anti-theists. There is a distinct difference between not believing in one or more deities and being against religions regardless of beliefs. While I'm not only a mostly-open and practicing Satanist and atheist, I don't harbor any resentments towards any other religions; however, that's just because I simply can't be bothered to care about other religions.

As for attacking Satanists, I have seen anti-theists and atheists attack Satanism. However, most of them don't even understand the religion and couldn't make a rational argument about how the religion is supposedly wrong.

Actually La Veyan Satanism is a simple, Agnostic or Atheist belief, that God is a word that means universe, and the Satanical viewpoint is I am God.

It's what the swastika means, it's the reason Jesus was killed, it's what happens when you eat the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, most probably poppies. Not all atheists are satanists, and not all satanists are atheists, and those are the ones you gotta watch out for.

I'm actually not quite sure, but I thought it might help if a person like yourself, responded to the question in my point of veiw. So here it goes...

Somebody that does not believe in ANY religion.

Somebody who WORSHIPS satan.

So your right buddy, your question is actually very interesting, because as I said an atheist does not practice any religion, so why don't they pester satanists.? Well the world may never actually know but I have a couple theories.

- both groups have similar aspects, a satanist is bassically like an extremest, they took atheism to the next level. (I'm sure I'll get lots of hate for saying that, but what do you do)

- both groups like to protest God, or whoever you might worship, they protest every known all mighty, so why would they pester a group who does similar.?

"Atheist" and "they" do not go together. Please remember that there is more than one atheist in the world, and more than one Satanist. Also note that Catholicism is not a religion. It is part of Christianity.

Yes, Satanism is a religion too, but unlike members of the others, Satanists don't go around bothering people and insisting that they join it, or getting involved in politics to try and impose their views. If you feel attacked by atheists, it's your own fault.

Actually I can pick which religions I don't like. I like most forms of Paganism and I have nothing against Buddhism. Satanism seems to be based on subverting Christianity so they're cool with me too.

Christian leaders from around the world have clearly stated their opposition to the "victimization or diminishment" of gays and lesbians, saying demonizing and persecuting them was "totally against Christian charity and basic principles of pastoral care".

Taking one sin to indulge in intolerance, hatred, bigotry, homophobia and persecution will never be acceptable in the eyes of God!

ALL the other religions and atheists live in peace and are ONLY attacked by BAD Christians which causes all GOOD Christians to despair at the damage they do!

The self destruction of Christianity is underway and the only thing that can stop it is to abandon the terrible human emotions, seek to rediscover the idea of a loving god and act like it!

Posts like yours that drive people further away from God are the reason so many DECENT people are becoming ANTITHEISTS!

All religions are equally silly and false, but not all of them are equally influential and harmful.

There are thousands of religions in the world. It would be hard to criticize all of them.

That's why those who speak up against religion focus only on those that have the biggest impact on the world.

Satanists aren't trying to teach their crap in science classroom, they aren't trying to ban abortion, homosexuality, or make their doctrines into law. They aren't blowing up buildings, waging war against everybody who doesn't share their imaginary friends.

But, if you want to talk about Satanism, I'm just as happy to ridicule it as I am to make fun of Christianity or Islam (which, by the way are believed in by more than a half of the human race).

Just to remind you, Catholicism is the largest and oldest of the Christian churches. The division is Catholic and Protestant not Catholic and Christian.

As an atheist I have no worries about anyone believing anything they like. It is only when they try to impose those beliefs on me that I object, and the worst group for trying to do that are the fundamentalist Christians. Satanists haven't bothered me so far.
