Subwoofer making popping sound and system won't put out sound.?
I have an LG HT904SA 5.1 surround sound home theatre in a box system. Yesterday, it was working fine (been mostly problem-free for 5 years). This morning, I turned it on and the subwoofer is making a popping sound about every 3 seconds. In addition, the stereo will no longer put out any sound. I disconnected and reconnected all the speaker wires from both ends but saw no improvement.
Is there a way to fix this or is the subwoofer just shot? Thanks.
Well, it fixed itself and then I decided to buy myself a new receiver and pair it with the speakers I already have so I guess I don't need you guys.

That's typical of a faulty power supply - it tries to start every so often (giving the pop) but fails due to an internal fault or overload and shuts down again.

That's a disposable system. Fixing it is like fixing a Bic lighter.

Dump the HTiB in the trash, where it belongs , and buy a good receiver and speaker set. Sorry but that;s life with HTIB appliance grade rubbish..

Let it run for a while and it will fix itself.
