Question about address when mailing a letter?

Yesterday, I mailed a letter with the wrong type of street. For example, I mailed it to 123 Smith Ave. instead of 123 Smith Rd. Everything else is correct: the street number, the town and the zip code.

Will the letter still make it to the person or will it be returned to sender? Thanks!

Does not matter. Letters are processed by machines that read the address, look it up, then make corrections before printing the delivery barcode on the front of the envelope. The barcode will be for the corrected address.
