Gun Lovers..Explain why a 29 year old Mother leaves a loaded gun in her purse for a 2 year old to access & kill her in a grocery store?

It seems you answered your own question. The purse is usually the first thing a robber goes for....very foolish to keep a gun there. Once you hand over your purse, you have handed over your primary means of defense.

An unfortunate lapse in judgement, maybe. She was probably too focused on getting shopping done and making sure all her kids were still around and behaving which may have somehow made her forget about the gun (she was supposedly checking on another kid when it happened.) Apparently the purse it was in was supposed to be specialized for concealed weapons so she might have let her guard down when assuming the kid wouldn't be able to get to it. Still, I do think she was irresponsible with the gun. I don't know why she wouldn't be keeping her purse by her side instead of next to a toddler or (better yet) why she didn't have it holstered on her, and I don't know why she would keep it loaded around her children. She just made too many careless mistakes with it.

Well I'm no gun lover, but the mother just loves her guns. And therefore likes having them with her at all times.

Guns actually stop a lot of crime. I used to be anti gun but now I realize why we need them. If you went outside one day and someone came to rob you and beat you up, you could either fight back and do severe bodily damage to them, or scare them away by pointing a gun. Fighting them could also land you in jail. If we live in a land with no guns, it's every man fends for himself. At least a criminal will victimize less people if he knows someone might be armed and one wrong move will get him shot. Plus there are too many illegal guns that law abiding citizens need to know they can protect themselves. It's a two way street. Banning guns won't solve anything.

If you were carrying concealed...why would it not be on your person at all times (In a holster)? Anyway I'm sure this will end up being more fuel for anti gun policy.

Because guns are a symbol of patriotism, anyone who is opposed to guns is opposed to the United States of America. If the mother was suddenly being attacked by a delinquent, she would have no means of defending herself. The child was also simply exemplifying his right to bear arms, the mother shouldn't have made the gun so accessible to a 2 year old child.

They lack of education that's why.

I can't explain it because I myself think it is very bizarre.

Guns are for killing people, she obviously wanted to kill someone that day.
