Skinny people exercising?

So I am on the skinnier side of people and I really don't like it. I don't like the fact that people tell me so either. Lately, I've been really inspired and motivated by Amanda Cerny (idk if u know her) to lead a healthy lifestyle. I've started to run / jog around where I live, work out and eat more healthy. Is this just going to make me even more skinny? I want to do this to improve my shape, I don't know if it will do just that. Can someone please answer this... Thank you x

It sounds like your body is naturally very skinny, therefore it would take a bit of work to make it rounder, if you will. Many people (women in particular) are very envious of this due to their own inability to loose weight despite how hard they work on it. That, as you can understand, is where their rudeness comes in through their less-than-sensitive remarks regarding your weight. If commenting on your body makes them feel better about their own, than they will do it. It truly is not fair, and i am sorry that you have had to deal with other people's insecurity with their own bodies.

The issue at hand is much simpler than the other of dealing with our fellow peoples' rude comments. Deciding to become healthier is ALWAYS a great decision! Whether it is changing your diet or exercising more, it is always best to take care of your body. With that said, if you are trying to simply become healthier and improve the shape of your body, i recommend trying more protein coupled with light cardio and weightlifting. I am not an expert in the matter of exercising, but i do know that protein, alongside weightlifting, helps build muscle. Cardio tends to help lose weight so maybe do not go too crazy with that, but light cardio will really help get you in better shape overall. Seeing as you are naturally skinny, i do not see exercise as anything but beneficial to your body. It should only tighten and tone your body.

I really hope this helps! Good luck, and happy new year!!

Basically you tailor your workouts towards muscle preservation/building. Skinny does NOT mean that someone is fit. Nooo. You still have to do WORK to increase performance fitness (one assessment most know about is heart rate recovery). I take it you know this already. At its most basic, since you seem appearance focused, you don't want to do too much cardio. Do the higher weights/slower rep's stuff. Eat enough calories, especially protein. I agree, its not a walk in the park for skinny people to get fit. Nope. In fact, its easy for this type to get sick of eating to keep the body from loosing precious muscle tissue.

You will likely lose more weight, but it depends on your diet too. I don't know exactly what you asking, and since I don't ant to encourage you to engage in an unhealthy lifestyle, I am not giving any tips.

Eat more protein to gain muscle mass. Maybe start weight training or even HIIT workouts since it does tone the body too
