What would happen if I went to the hospital for suicidal thoughts?

What exactly happens..?

    They have you talk to a mental health professional who will assess your current mental health state. From what you tell them from the questions asked they will decide if you need to go into the psychiatric ward of the hospital or if they feel you will be ok going home with outpatient treatment they will set that up for you.

    They will recommend that you see a psychiatrist and send you home.
