Desperate for Advice! Read!?

In 2013 I made 9,101$ but only got 1300$ back. My first year filing taxes so I had my friend do them on turbotax. She even said she made the same amount as me but got back 5000! I'm a single mom to 1 child. He's 2. I worked in factories all last year. H&R block can get me the rest back, yes? Is it free to have them do that? Is there a calculator I can see if I qualify? I know I should of gotten back more then 1,300! Advice, tips, please??

If your child lived with you but not with the other parent, and your $9101 was on a W-2, sounds like something was wrong. If the 9101 was on a 1099, is probably right Block can do it, but NO it won't be anywhere near free. Find a VITA site http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Free-Tax-Return-Pre... near you to get it done free.
