Jehovah's Witnesses: Do you really think that the article on 'life' in the Jan 2015 Watchtower magazine is scientific?

The article is linked in this question:

https://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20...

Note how most of the answers point out that the claims in the article are false - are all the answerers lying?

Update:

Yes Sunshine, that's the article you incorrectly seem to think is 'science'.

How about actually answering the question? Unlike you I won't block people who disagree with me.

Update 2:

OK, you've now edited your reply and given an answer. It would appear that you have no idea what qualifies something as science (but don't want to hear it).

Update 3:

Like Sunshine has now added (in all caps.), feel free to read the article. If you understand the science you will immediately see that it is nothing more than religious propaganda that lies about the genuine science.

If you don't understand the science, and don't understand why this is the case, feel free to ask - I have nothing to hide (I didn't link directly to the article, but I did provide a link it could be accessed from).

Yet I found it weird running across articles about anything science including stories about scientists becoming Jehovah Witness's in their magazines. Every time I would seriously read them but they didn't make sense because it came off as trying to discredit science in a way. So really there is no point in placing anything about science in a religious magazine where you don't even believe in science so to speak.

From their site you already know the link for it as it gets promoted every second of the day.

Jehovah’s Witnesses do believe that God created everything. But we do not agree with creationism. Why not? Because a number of creationist ideas actually conflict with the Bible. Consider the following two examples:

Length of the six days of creation. Some creationists assert that the six days of creation were literal 24-hour days. But the word “day” in the Bible can refer to a considerable length of time.—Genesis 2:4; Psalm 90:4.

Age of the earth. Some creationists teach that the earth is just a few thousand years old. However, according to the Bible, the earth and the universe existed before the six days of creation. (Genesis 1:1) For that reason, Jehovah’s Witnesses have no objection to credible scientific research that indicates the earth may be billions of years old.

Although Jehovah’s Witnesses believe in creation, we are not antiscience. We believe that true science and the Bible are compatible.

The Earth is supposedly 4.54 billion years old. Hmmmmmm

but to answer your question no it was just a bashing of evolution and an article on why people should consider the Jehovah Witness view of how life started according to the bible.

I want to thank you. You just insulted me on another question of using an expression which you didn't understand, because I have a different speaking style than you. I live somewhere else and talk differently and you read into it and called me arrogant.

So I was going to email you and it is closed, but I saw from your profile that you ask all of these questions about JWs. Then I saw that link and went to it. I have not yet read that article, so now I can. So you did me a favor.

Try not to read too much into a word on the internet, or a slang expression, okay?

    I haven't read it!

All claims in the Watchtower I automatically assume are false - with exceptionally good reason might I add.

I assume this question is in response to some of the SPAM that's been appearing on here all morning.

Source(s): Scientist (and by logical extension, antitheist)

The Awake article does gives accurate information, it shows that the evolution theory does not stand in the light of inspection. Read the article and see what you think, it can be downloaded or read via jw.org.
