Mom won't sign over life insurance policies. I'm 30. She is a career criminal (federal) and I fear for my life. Police will do NOTHING.?

Update:

State Farm won't sign it over because I am "not listed as an owner and only the owner can make changes". I can't wait around for her to kill me! (Yes, she can and WILL do it.) What other options do I have???

Update 2:

Also, I am in Texas, and she is in Illinois. They originated in Illinois.

Update 3:

The policies total $200,000.00. NO FUNERAL costs that much! That's a payday, not a funeral.

You can make the insurance company aware that if you die of anything other than natural causes, then they should assume that you were murdered by her and refuse to pay. (A life insurance policy pays the beneficiary if the death occurs for a reason other than murder or if the person getting paid is not the murderer. If she kills you, then she is not supposed to get paid.) You can also make her aware that the insurance company knows not to pay if you are murdered, so she will know that killing you for the money won't give her any money.

However, she can still keep the policies in case you die for some other reason (not caused by her). You have no options for getting the policies from her. The police can't do anything, because there is nothing to do. The insurance company is correct; she cannot be made to sign over the insurance. If you try to take the policies, then the police can do one thing: They can arrest you for stealing.

There's no way she could buy child life insurance in the amount of $200,000. The only way she has policies totally $200,000, is if you gave your consent as an adult. That consent, is irrevocable. You flat out cannot "take over" the life insurance policies she's been paying into, any more than you can "take over" her bank account. You have no rights to it.

I'd suggest you change your name, move, and cut all ties with her. There are 320,000,000 people in the USA - she can't find you if you don't make it easy for her.

State Farm is correct. Only a policy owner can make changes to a policy. Being the insured party gives you zero rights over the policy. And police have no authority over insurance policies.

BTW, murder of an insured party by the beneficiary invalidates the policy.

I guess I don't understand. If you are not the owner they why are you so worried about the policy. Someone else is paying for the policy so why do you care and if you are paying, why?? If you need life insurance, get your own policy. You don't sigh over insurance policies that you don't own, you get your own.
