How long does it take for medi-cal to approve me?
Around september 2014 i was removed by my father insurance ( blue shield of california) and i applied for medi-cal in person october 14 2014 the lady completed it on my calwin benefits today im still waiting for an answer to see if im approve how long does it take to get approved about me im single 23 years old employed i live san jose california i live with my parents ( I dont want to pay the tax penalty for no insurance)

Are you disabled or at the poverty level? Medi Cal is for seniors or the underprivileged I believe. Get online with Blue Shield. You are young so it should be cheap. Otherwise your parents can Carr you until you are 26 if you are in school.

It usually takes about three months, but it's not easy for able bodied adults to qualify for welfare - which is what Medi-Cal is.

The welfare department is way understaffed to handle all of the new welfare recipients. It can take 3 weeks to 3 months to get approval depending on your county.
You may want to follow up and see if there is any hold-up.
