What do Astronomers wear to work?

I have a ELA project presentation coming up,and i'm really excited about it...the bad thing is,i have to dress up.I have many career goals but the one i love the most is being an Astronomer! I told my teachers that Astronomers usually wear casual clothes to work,but she was like you gotta dress up to be successful,i was like no you don't. Anyway,what can i wear to dress like an astronomer?I was thinking some jeggings that look like a galaxy,and a shirt that says "i'm made of stardust",i know it sounds tacky but trust me its pretty cool.Btw,i'm not willing to wear a lab coat or dress,lol,its just a personal thing.Thanks in advanced!Also i;m 14 if that matters,lol

It depends on where you are working.   It your on top of Mona Kea in Hawaii you will be wearing Heavy Winter gear.

If your at the Aserabio Radio telescope you will be wearing Tropical gear   flip flops, shorts and t shirt.

Astronomers usually wear clean clothes. There are exceptions. I've noticed a few astronomers who don't mind smelling as if they've worn the same clothes for three days running.

Clothes.

The typically DO NOT wear any kind of uniform or similar clothing.

Jean and a T-short are often OK, until they have to give a formal presentation.

But understand that while you can wear just about anything while doing the research, IT IS THE PRESENTATION that gets you "famous", so your teacher is correct,  you DO need to "dress for success".

I agree. Business casual is the safest option. personally, I would wear a tie too. Not a loud one. Jacket optional.

Note what the audience and other presenters are wearing. If you get invite back, you will then know what to wear next time.
