Problem with wifi reception of HP Pavilion 15-p028ne.?

Just bought a new HP PAVILION 15-p028ne laptop with WINDOWS 8. But the problem that I am facing now is that it does not catch WIFI signals from my router. My HTC, Google Nexus and even my 7 years old dell Latitude d530 get 4 out of 5 signals but my new laptop does not even get a single signal.

What could be the problem, If updating the drivers is an answer, then please also tell me the method as I do not have much idea about windows 8. My wireless adapter is Broadcoam 802.11 b/g/n.

Thanks in advance.

Update:

It gets the almost 1 or 2 signals when I am 2 to 3 feet away from my router.

    Hello Kumail,

My name is Sandeep and I work for the Social Media and Community Team at Dell.

This could be an issue with the channel number that this system is working from, please have this system connected using a wired internet connection. Once this is done you will then need to log into the router page and check the channel number that it is working off. Once you’ve made note of this you will then need to navigate to the device manager, from the windows start screen just type device, click on the device manager. Under network, you’ll find the wireless driver, left double click on it and then navigate to the properties and check for the channel number and update the same channel number from the router. Then restart the system and check the functionality and let us know!

    Thanks,

    Sandeep

Are you sure it is enabled and the wifi is turned on in software.
