What is this?
What the heck is this thing? What does it do? I got it from an old fm alarm clock radio that uses dials to tune. This was screwed to one of the dials.

Still no photo. It needs to be small, video doesn't usually work here.
Most likely, it is used to change the time or turn on/off the alarm. Older units had a plastic tip screwed onto a threaded rod, that was used to push/pull similar to an old door lock in a car or used to set the time or wind a wrist watch.

It's a variable capacitor, used to tune the selective circuits that determine what frequency the radio receives.
