Does anyone know why in the SIMPLE Wikipedia on the page called "Cooking," there's no mention at all of microwave ovens . . .?

Update:

-----as one of the ways of cooking foods (though cooked from the inside rather than outside), and they're one of the heating/cooking devices most commonly known to kids. Big oversight.

https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cooking

Even on the regular Wikipedia page for Cooking, microwave ovens are mentioned in only one sentence: " A more recent innovation is microwaving." and "microwaving" is not even created as a Wk link....though I see now it is a Wk link when briefly mentioned under Cooking and

Update 2:

Carcinogens.

(The simple Wk page is also supposedly "for kids" and mentions many other things that sh come only after mentioning microwaves.)

(Can't find a suggestion box at Wikipedia and *don't* have time for steep learning curve for editing there.)

I'm the original asker and just wanted to say that I didn't choose a Best Answer because the ones I've gotten so far either haven't been accurate, or haven't been helpful since I said I *didn't* want to have to edit.

Turns out there's another way to simply make a suggestion, hopefully to the right people, that I didn't know about before.

On the page for the topic, click the TALK tab. Then you can just write about problems like the one I mentioned before. Presumably at least people who contributed to that page will then see that Talk entry, and perhaps many others now or in the future, and do something about it.

  • If you've spotted an important omission, submit an edit. That's what the wiki principle is all about. Remember that the Simple English Wikipedia is intended for those with a limited grasp of the English language.

Probably because it's the SIMPLE Wikipedia site. It is a MUCH shorter article than on the regular site. They keep it simple so that people can understand easier and/or better.

Who the f cooks in a microwave? They have limited use. Do the water test with a small plant. Cooking in a microwave modifies the molecules to the point where the body no longer recognizes it as food but, instead, a foreign substance. Essentially, cooking in a microwave is very unhealthy. If you want to wreck havoc on your body, go ahead. Be lazy and stupid. I use it only on a rare occasion to re-heat tea and for defrosting and taking the edge off cold leftovers. ...And, to warm a wet facecloth once in a while.

Because it's the Simple version of Wikipedia, and lacking in a lot of details.

Your nutrition is zapped out of your vegetables, pizza warmed in micros turn out soggy. Hamburgers cook to a hard tasteless glob. Also other reasons recipes are not in Wiki.
