Can I report to the HR if I wasn't laid of my seasonal job in a decent way?
I was hired with 2 others to work as a holiday sales associate, and we were told that one of us would stay after the holidays. usually our manager sends us the weekly schedule by mail. after christmas i never received the schedule so I tried contacting my manager but he wouldn't answer my calls, while the other 2 were still working. up until now I still haven't heard from my manager, he blocks my calls. I even showed up to the shop but he apparently doesn't have time since he is busy with work. I knew after he ignored my first call that I wasn't chosen to stay as a permanent associate, but I just wanted him to at least tell me face to face or on the phone. I think it was unprofessional and disrespectful.
Can I report him to the HR? Is it ethical? And would it affect my future employment at any other store since on job applications they ask for your previous manager's number (if i report him would he get upset and like give a bad image about me regardless of my actual work skills and review)?
Thank you in advance

I'm sure you can report him to HR, however it is unlikely that HR will side with you since you were only holiday help and were warned you may not be chosen to continue working there. It is more likely that they will file the complaint and the manager will never hear or see it. Even if he does, he has more power in that type of work and if you make him angry enough he may try to sabotage your future work goals wether it be with his company or another in the industry. It would be better to just forgive and forget. Chalk him up as a disrespectful *** and don't worry about it. Move on and find another better job. Who knows, you may even become his boss some day and you can show him what it's like to be ignored and disrespected (if you really are bent on revenge).

Move on. Don't say anything. It wont fix anything. They aren't going to give you the job back. You will never hear what comes of it. He told you that you might not have a job after the holidays and you don't. Pretty simple stuff.

You can be fired and a manager can be as rude as they want to be. HR will hear you out and simply dismiss your complaints and you might wind up with a do not rehire on your file.
I would give an future ref a direct phone to hr - NOT the manager.

This is unprofessional, but not illegal behavior. You can report him, but then you are indeed burning bridges here. Just get a new job without a passive aggressive boss. You clearly have been let go, which as a seasonal employee was always potentially possible. Move on.
